Blancpain expands its professional dive watch portfolio with the introduction of the “Fifty Fathoms Tech” as part of its permanent collection. Previously available only as a 100-piece limited edition, this robust new reference blends advanced underwater functionality with refined finishing, housed in a lightweight Grade 23 titanium case. With features like a helium escape valve, interchangeable strap system, and a 120-hour power reserve, the Fifty Fathoms Tech embodies the brand’s uncompromising commitment to deep-sea performance and horological excellence.
This new “Fifty Fathoms Tech” is housed in a brushed Grade 23 titanium case measuring 45 mm in diameter and 14.10 mm in height. The case features a bold, utilitarian profile with short lugs and a unidirectional 120-click ceramic bezel slightly inclined toward the dial for improved operability, even with gloved hands. The matte finish and sharp geometry give the watch a technical, purpose-driven appeal rooted in saturation diving.
Around back, a screw-down sapphire crystal caseback reveals the in-house automatic caliber within. Despite its professional tool-watch ethos, Blancpain ensures that the movement remains a visual pleasure, offering refined finishing visible through the exhibition window.
A helium escape valve is located at 10 o’clock on the caseband to allow safe decompression during saturation dives. 
The screw-down crown contributes to the overall integrity of the case. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (1,000 feet).
The dial embraces a functional, high-contrast layout tailored for extreme underwater legibility. Its absolute black background is engineered to absorb up to 97% of ambient light, delivering exceptional readability in low-visibility conditions. A bold orange central seconds hand draws immediate attention, visually anchoring the center while also providing critical movement indication for divers. The model name “TECH” is printed in orange at 6 o’clock, reinforcing the instrument-like identity of the watch.
Large block-shaped hour markers and thick sword-shaped hands form the core visual language, echoing Blancpain’s legacy of no-nonsense tool watches. The applied indices are neatly proportioned and sharply faceted, adding dimensionality while remaining firmly legible at a glance. The minute track is cleanly printed along the dial’s outer edge, avoiding clutter and preserving clarity.
Filled with Super-LumiNova, all hands and hour markers emit a strong glow in dark environments, ensuring visibility when it matters most. Combined with the anti-reflective crystal and sharply contrasting elements, the dial is a prime example of functional design elevated through minimalist refinement.
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech
The “Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech” (Ref#: 5029 12B30 94A) is powered by the self-winding in-house mechanical movement, caliber 1315A with 35 jewels, 227 components, and a frequency of 28,800 vph. The silicon balance spring ensures enhanced resistance to magnetic fields, improving long-term reliability. It features a triple-barrel system that allows for an extended 120-hour (5-day) power reserve when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a black rubber strap featuring Blancpain’s new interchangeable system, which allows for quick, tool-free strap changes. It is delivered with two additional rubber options in white and vivid orange, offering both versatility and visual impact. 
All secured by a titanium pin buckle, the strap complements the technical aesthetic while ensuring comfort and durability on the wrist. 
It reflects the modern utility of the Tech line, reinforcing the tool-watch character of this deep-diving Fifty Fathoms.
