As part of the Bell & Ross “Urban” collection, the BR-X5 series brings an elevated level of craftsmanship and design, drawing on the foundation of the BR-05 but with more intricate case architecture and a superior internal movement. The BR-X5 Iridescent, a new release for 2024, introduces a dynamic color-changing dial that shifts between vibrant hues of blue, green, and purple. While the watch retains the familiar form and structure of the BR-X5, this latest addition offers a playful twist to Bell & Ross’ typically bold and industrial aesthetic, making it one of the most visually striking models in the collection.
The 41mm stainless steel case with a 12.8mm thickness, boosts a robust construction while maintaining a sleek profile. The case is constructed from multiple components, with a three-part structure that includes a central section sandwiched between two outer components forming the upper and lower surfaces of the lugs. This architectural design is a hallmark of the BR-X5 series, enhancing both its visual and functional appeal. The brushed and polished finishes provide an elegant contrast, giving the case a modern, urban aesthetic while preserving the brand’s signature industrial look.
Secured by four exposed screws, the bezel and display-style caseback are designed to create a cohesive and rugged appearance, reflecting Bell & Ross’ aviation roots. The sapphire crystal on both the front and back ensures durability and scratch resistance while offering clear views of both the dial and the movement. 
It comes equipped with angular crown guards at the 3 o’clock position flanking the screw-down crown, providing added protection and maintaining the clean lines of the case, which is essential for its structural integrity. The intricate case architecture sets this model apart, offering a more elevated design within Bell & Ross’ Urban collection, while still maintaining the brand’s robust, tool-watch ethos. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
The standout feature of the BR-X5 Iridescent is undoubtedly its color-changing dial, a new addition to the BR-X5 series. The multi-colored surface shifts between shades of blue, green, aqua, and purple, depending on the angle and lighting, creating a dynamic and playful aesthetic that contrasts with the more serious designs of previous models. 
This vibrant dial transforms the typically minimalist and aviation-inspired layout into something far more visually captivating, making it the most whimsical model in the collection.
In terms of layout, the dial retains the core elements seen in its black and ice blue siblings. The aviation-themed date window at 3 o’clock features an arc-shaped aperture displaying three values, while the three-day power reserve is tracked by a sub-dial at 9 o’clock, balancing the design.
The centrally mounted hour, minute, and seconds hands work alongside the rounded baton-shaped hour markers, all filled with white Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in various lighting conditions.
Adding a final layer of detail, the seconds hand is finished in matte white, contrasting with the rhodium-plated hour and minute hands, offering a subtle yet noticeable distinction. The surrounding chapter ring, also showcasing the iridescent surface, further emphasizes the multi-colored effect. This unique dial design, while playful, maintains the brand’s dedication to precision and functionality, proving that Bell & Ross can successfully marry aesthetics with performance.
Bell & Ross BR-X5 Iridescent
The "Bell & Ross BR-X5 Iridescent" (References below) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber BR-CAL.323 with 28 jewels, and 28,800 vph. This movement was manufactured by the Swiss specialist Kenissi, in compliance with the specifications defined by Bell & Ross. It comes equipped with a variable-inertia balance wheel and transversal bridge. It is also the first COSC certified mechanism for B&R. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is either a white rubber strap or an integrated steel bracelet, both secured to the wrist by a deployant folding clasp with a double push-button release.
