Bell & Ross BR-X5 Black Titanium
Back in 2022, Bell & Ross launched the BR-X5, a design that marked a high point in the brand's creative evolution. This model showcased an avant-garde take on the iconic circle-in-square motif, enhanced by an integrated case and bracelet, and a distinctive dial, lifting the familiar elements of the brand to new heights. At Watches and Wonders 2024, Bell & Ross revisited this seminal design, introducing the new Bell & Ross BR-X5 Black Titanium. The latest version maintains the original's structural composition but features a more subdued tone and style. This more understated approach provides a refined contrast to the bolder aesthetics of earlier BR-X5 models, offering a sophisticated alternative. The 41mm case with a thickness of 12.80mm is meticulously crafted from Grade 2 titanium, chosen for its superior properties including being much lighter than steel, hypoallergenic, and exceptionally resistant to corrosion. These characteristics make titanium an ideal material for an instrument watch, especially for those who value durability and comfort in active or challenging environments. On the flipside, the watch showcases its technical prowess with an open sapphire crystal caseback that provides a clear view of the inner mechanics. The various parts that include plates, container, bezel, and case back are assembled and kept watertight by four screws that pass through the whole 12.80 mm thickness, in order to reinforce the final construction. All topped by a square bezel with a round sapphire crystal that is both functional and aesthetic, enhancing the watch’s technical appearance while protecting the dial. The bezel is hollowed out, further reducing the overall weight of the timepiece and emphasizing its modern, sporty look. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a dark gray dial with applied hour indices, followed by a printed minute ring with index markers. It includes two complications that appear as a triple-digit date window at 3 o’clock and a framed power reserve indicator at the 9 o’clock position. This main novelty is what sets this model line apart, distinguishing it from the traditional offerings we've come to expect from Bell & Ross. This layout not only ensures ease of reading but also contributes to the watch's functional design, making it a reliable tool for professionals. The central hour/minute hands and hour indices have all been fitted with a Super-LumiNova coating for an enhanced legibility. The only exception being the seconds hand, which does not feature luminosity.
