Bell & Ross has previewed some of its upcoming novelties for Baselworld 2020. After several releases that aimed at widening their appeal by surprising us with very atypical models. Now they seem to be focused on bringing it back to the basics by returning to their core military & aviation inspired timepieces. To set mission 2020 in motion here is the “Bell & Ross BR V2-92 Military Green”.
The 41mm round case is made of stainless-steel with a solid case back. Mounted to the case is a bi-directional rotating bezel featuring a black anodized aluminum insert engraved with a 60-minute scale. Always a useful addition allowing to set-up markers for more accurate time management, when in mission mode or in need of tracking.
Once more the brand has extended their range of models, by deviating from their more iconic “circle within a square” design. It also comes equipped with a screw-down setting-crown, neatly tucked away between a pair of crown guards. All topped by a box-type sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance reaching up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on an anti-reflective matte khaki dial with hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 3, 6, 9 and 12. These markings and numerals have been given a contrasting green hue, widening the color scheme and adding another dimension to the overall design.
The central hands, index markers and Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a small round date aperture that has been colored matched to seamlessly blended in with the dial, between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.
