Bell & Ross BR 05 Blue Gold
It was just last year in 2019 that Bell & Ross introduced their BR 05 into the horology sphere as a legit competitor of the luxury sports genre. Their initial flagship model was in stainless-steel, which allowed to test the market at a favorable price point. Now for 2020 they are raising the stakes by following it up with an 18k rose gold edition that looks stunning against a blue sun-ray dial.
Once again we encounter the iconic 40mm round dial within a square case, made of polished 18k rose gold with a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. 
Mounted to the case is a matching 18k rose gold bezel with four exposed indexed gold screws. As we gaze at this block of gold extended into an integrated bracelet, designed to seemlessly wrap around the user with a comfortable wrist fit.
It comes equipped with a setting-crown placed between crown guards. All topped by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance on this watch can last up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a blue sun-ray dial with rose gold appliqué hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6, 9, and 12. On the upper-half of the dial we find the “Bell & Ross” logo in matching rose gold. A relatively simple, but highly affective and satisfying design.
The skeletonized semi-hollow central rose gold hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position, thus providing the essentials for our daily needs.
Bell & Ross BR 05 Blue Gold
The “Bell & Ross BR 05 Blue Gold” (References below) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber BR-CAL.321 with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. It is originally based on the Sellite SW300-1 movement. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted to the watch is either a ribbed blue rubber strap, secured by a satin-finished and polished rose gold pin buckle; or a full 18k rose gold bracelet, secured by a deployment buckle (at an additional cost).
