Bell & Ross BR-03 Green Steel

Bell & Ross expands its BR-03 collection with the new BR-03 Green Steel, introducing a refined take on the brand’s signature square pilot’s watch. Featuring a rich green sunray dial with a subtle black gradient and a simplified display, the latest model brings a more elegant aesthetic to the iconic instrument-inspired design while retaining the robust construction and everyday practicality that have defined the BR-03 since its debut.

The Bell & Ross BR-03 Green Steel is housed in the collection’s signature 41mm x 41mm stainless-steel case, measuring just 9.65mm thick. Satin-finished and polished surfaces create an attractive contrast across the square architecture, while the four functional screws at each corner remain a defining element of the BR-03’s cockpit instrument-inspired design.

Unlike many previous BR-03 models, the Green Steel features a solid stainless-steel caseback, preserving the watch’s clean, utilitarian character while reinforcing its instrument-watch philosophy. The closed construction also contributes to the watch’s robust feel, while subtle engravings on the caseback identify the model and technical specifications. Together with the compact proportions, the case offers a reassuring balance of durability and everyday wearability.

A sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating protects the dial, ensuring excellent clarity while minimizing unwanted reflections in bright lighting conditions. The screw-down crown further enhances the watch’s practical credentials by improving resistance against dust and moisture, making the BR-03 Green Steel well suited for both daily wear and more demanding environments. Water resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).

The highlight of the BR-03 Green Steel is its glossy lacquered green sunray dial, which transitions to a darker gradient around the edges to create additional depth and visual richness. Depending on the lighting, the dial shifts between vibrant emerald tones and deeper forest green shades, giving the watch a more refined appearance than many previous BR-03 models.

This edition also introduces a cleaner display by eliminating the traditional minute track. Instead, Bell & Ross opts for applied Arabic numerals and elegant baignoire-style hour markers, resulting in a less technical and more contemporary aesthetic while preserving excellent readability.

Rhodium-plated hour and minute hands complete the display alongside a central seconds hand and date window. Both the hands and hour markers are filled with white Super-LumiNova X1, producing a bright green glow for excellent legibility in low-light conditions.

The “Bell & Ross BR-03 Green Steel” (Ref#: BR03A-GN-ST/SCA) is powered by the automatic caliber BR-CAL.302-1, based on the reliable Sellita SW300-1. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) with 25 jewels, the movement displays the hours, minutes, hacking seconds, and date. Power reserve can last up to 54 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted on this watch is a black box calfskin leather strap secured by a satin-finished and polished stainless steel pin buckle.

Bell & Ross also includes an additional black synthetic fabric strap, allowing owners to easily switch between a refined everyday look and a more rugged, military-inspired style.
