Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Tara
The latest release by Bell & Ross stems from a collaboration with the Tara Ocean Foundation to commemorate the first year of their partnership. The Tara Ocean Foundation is a French organization committed to ocean exploration and the dissemination of its scientific discoveries to raise public awareness. Naturally, a dive watch is the perfect canvas for this special timepiece. The new limited-edition Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Tara takes the original design of the series and presents it in the foundation's colors, featuring a matte blue ceramic case with vibrant orange highlights. As the brand states “The Tara Foundation has a twofold mission: to explore the Ocean to ensure better understanding, and to share scientific knowledge about the Ocean to raise public awareness. Regularly facing dangerous conditions, the members of Tara's crew keep pushing the limits of the extreme. To do so, these experienced sailors and scientists have to be able to rely on instruments which remain precise and reliable in all circumstances.”The iconic square 42mm case is made of matte blue ceramic with the standard exposed screws on each of the four corners, which have been blued to preserve a compact color scheme. Mounted to the case is a matching blue ceramic rotating unidirectional bezel. The diving bezel is graduated to 60 minutes in 5 minute intervals with an orange section for the initial 15 minutes. On the flip-side is a solid caseback decorated with an image of the schooner Tara, which is a sailing ship rigged with fore-and-aft sails on its two or more masts. It also features the brand logo, reference number, and the unique limited edition numbering for each manufactured timepiece. It comes equipped with an anti-shock crown-guard lock and a setting-crown embossed with the ampersand “&” Bell & Ross logo. Plus the watch has been constructed with a soft-iron cage to increase its resistance to magnetic fields. All topped by a thick 2.85mm sapphire crystal with an antireflective coating. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet)).Time is exhibited on a blue metal dial with applied circles and rounded out hour index markers, followed by a ring of white printed minute markings along a sloped flange. The central hour/minute hands, applied index markers, and the single round dot on the slim "lollipop-style" seconds hand have all been fitted with a Super-LumiNova coating, for an enhanced legibility. It also includes a discreet circular tone-on-tone date aperture, placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. As previously mentioned, one of the most appealing features of the BR 03-92 Diver collection is its ability to maintain a straightforward design while providing exceptional durability. These watches are known for their effective use of color schemes and a highly readable layout within the circular frame.
