Bell & Ross V2-94 Aéronavale Bronze
As a salute to French naval officers, Bell & Ross have released a new limited edition timepiece, for their Vintage BR Aéronavale collection. This refined chronograph has been crafted out of a specific bronze material that provides a palette of unique shades, which will gradually morph as time goes by. That combined with its ocean blue dial make the new “V2-94 Aéronavale Bronze” an ideal choice for those in search of a vintage-feel.
Despite the apparent yellow gold tone, this 41mm case is actually made of a premium CuAI7Si2 bronze alloy, which consists of 91% copper, 7% aluminum and 2% silicon). While on the flip-side we encounter a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inners workings of the mechanical movement. Mounted to the case is a matching bronze bezel with anodized blue aluminum ring engraved with a 60-minute scale.
It comes equipped a pair of screw-down push-pieces that operate the chronograph functions; plus a setting-crown placed in-between that can also be screwed-down, for an enhanced permeability. All topped by a ultra-curved box-type sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a blue sunray dial with gilted and polished bronze-toned hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6 and 9; followed by a ring of smaller white hued seconds and minute markings.
It includes two sub-dials with a snailed guilloché decoration: a sub-seconds at the 3 o’clock position and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position. There is also a date aperture located between the 4 and 5 o’clock spots. The satin-polished and gilted central skeletonized hour & minutes hands have been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.
