Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding with Rubber Blue Bezel
Audemars Piguet unveiled a fresh Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding model in a 43 mm size, featuring a dynamic two-tone aesthetic that pairs a stainless steel case with a blue rubber-coated bezel. The external rubber blue bezel echoes the design of the Royal Oak Offshore Rubberclad reference 25940, introduced in 2002 as the inaugural timepiece to incorporate rubber elements beyond the strap. It's delightful to witness this feature's revival. The 43mm case with a height of 14.4mm is made in stainless-steel with a mix of polished accents and a vertically brushed surface finish. Mounted to the case is AP’s signature octagonal bezel with eight exposed white gold screws, but the main novelty for this piece comes in the form of a blue rubber bezel. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition case back that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features exquisite finishing touches, including Côtes de Genève, along with vertical, circular, and sunray brushing techniques, circular graining, and polished bevels. Additionally, it is adorned with a 22k gold rotor that has been elegantly blackened. It comes equipped with two discreet protecting crown guards, while between them rests the screw-in setting crown adorned with the AP logo. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance that can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).Time is exhibited on a smoked blue dial with a new generation version of the signature Audemar Piguet “Méga Tapisserie” pattern dial with rhodium-toned gold trapezoidal-shaped hour index markers. Circling around a sloped flange is a white printed minutes/seconds track ring.On the upper-half of the dial instead of the long-form "Audemars Piguet" logo (like the 50th anniversary chronograph models had) it appears as a polished rhodium-toned gold AP monogram at the 12 o'clock position, rounding off the design. The central rhodium-toned gold hands and trapezoidal hour markers have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date window at 3 o’clock with dark blue background to blend in and white numerals to stand out.
