Audemars Piguet has expanded its Royal Oak Offshore collection with a new chronograph model, the Selfwinding Chronograph 43 mm (Ref#: 26420ST.OO.A828CR.01). Inspired by the rich hues of Habanos cigars, this latest addition features a sophisticated smoked bronze dial and a robust stainless steel case. Designed to embody both luxury and functionality, the timepiece showcases Audemars Piguet’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and innovative design, making it a standout piece in the brand’s iconic Offshore lineup.The 43mm case with a height of 14.4mm is made in stainless-steel with a mix of polished accents and a vertically brushed surface finish. Mounted to the case is AP’s signature octagonal bezel with eight exposed white gold screws. A robust presence while maintaining the iconic design cues of the Offshore series.On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition case back that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features exquisite finishing touches, including Côtes de Genève, along with vertical, circular, and sunray brushing techniques, circular graining, and polished bevels. It is also adorned with a blackened 22k gold rotor. It comes equipped with a screw-down crown embossed by the AP logo and push-pieces made from black ceramic, adding a modern, durable touch to the design. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance that can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).Time is exhibited on a smoked bronze dial with the signature Audemar Piguet “Méga Tapisserie” pattern. The edges of the dial are darkened, creating a gradient effect that seamlessly transitions to the black inner bezel. The tachymeter scale, presented in white on this black bezel, enhances legibility and adds a functional aspect to the watch’s sporty appeal.It features three snailed sub-dials: a 12-hour counter at 3 o’clock, a sub-seconds at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position. There is also a date window placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock spots. Their black hue matches up elegantly with the black inner bezel, crown, and push-pieces. The trapezoidal hour markers and Royal Oak hands are crafted from blackened gold and filled with luminescent material, ensuring optimal readability in low-light conditions.
