Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Black Ceramic and Yellow Gold

In order to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore, the brand is releasing some a few interesting pieces. The 2021 updated design is also present on this new two-tone release. The contrasting color scheme manages to enhance each particular hue.The 43 mm case is made of black ceramic with a mix of polished accents and a vertically brushed surface finish. Mounted to the case is AP’s signature octagonal bezel also with a vertical satin-brushed finish and eight exposed white gold screws.On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition case back that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. The oscillating weight is black coated and decorated with the “AP” inscription. It comes equipped with two solid push-pieces that activate the chronograph functions, while between them lay protecting gold crown guards and the screw-in setting crown adorned with the AP logo in gold. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance that can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet)Time is exhibited on a black dial with the signature Audemar Piguet “Méga Tapisserie” pattern dial with applied 18k yellow gold hour index markers. While circling around the flange is a white printed minutes/seconds track ring.
It features three snailed sub-dials with gold hands: a 12-hour counter at 3 o’clock, a sub-seconds at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position.There is also a date window placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock spots.On the upper-half of the dial instead of the long-form "Audemars Piguet" logo (like the 50th anniversary chronograph models had) it appears as “AP”. This iconic tri-compax layout appears very well defined in the contrasting gold on black color palette. The central 18k yellow gold hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

The “Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph 43mm Black Ceramic and Yellow Gold” (Ref#: 26420CE.OO.A127CR.01) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 4401 with 40 jewels, 367 parts and 28,800 vph. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours, when fully wound.Mounted on this watch is an interchangeable black alligator strap with golden stitching, secured to the wrist by an 18k yellow gold pin buckle.
