Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 38mm

Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 38mm

As part of its 150th anniversary celebrations, Audemars Piguet unveils a vibrant new trilogy of Code 11:59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon models in a compact 38mm format, each featuring a striking natural stone dial: blue sodalite, green malachite, or ruby root. These new references mark the first time AP combines the ultra-thin calibre 2968 flying tourbillon with colorful mineral dials in the 38mm Code 11:59 case. With each model limited to just 150 pieces, this release blends fine watchmaking with bold artistic expression, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to innovation and material excellence.
Each of the new Audemars Piguet Code 11:59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon models is housed in a 38mm case with a slim height of 9.6mm. The multifaceted architecture combines satin-brushed surfaces with polished bevels and includes the collection’s signature octagonal middle case framed by a round bezel and stylised lugs. Each version is rendered in a different precious metal: 18k white gold for the ruby root model, pink gold for the sodalite, and yellow gold for the malachite edition. Turning the watch over reveals a glare-proofed sapphire exhibition caseback offering an unimpeded view of the ultra-thin tourbillon movement within. The rotor is crafted from solid 22k gold and matches the case material, while the openworked bridges and traits tirés finishing highlight the technical and artistic quality of the manufacture caliber 2968.The newly designed crown features more pronounced notches for enhanced grip and ease of use. A double-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the front of the watch. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (100 feet), offering basic protection from splashes or brief exposure to water.
Each model in the new Audemars Piguet Code 11:59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon trilogy features a vibrant natural stone dial, celebrating both color and material rarity. The blue sodalite dial is paired with an 18k pink gold case, the green malachite with yellow gold, and the deep red ruby root with white gold. These wafer-thin slices of stone are carefully selected for their veining and tonal richness, making each piece unique. Unlike typical Code 11:59 models, no hour markers are applied to preserve the uninterrupted surface of the stone.
At 6 o’clock, a flying tourbillon is prominently displayed in a gold-framed aperture that matches the case material. Its one-minute rotation enhances the dial’s visual appeal, while also serving as a reminder of the watch’s mechanical complexity. The open structure of the tourbillon, supported only from below, allows light to interact with the moving parts, drawing attention to its dynamic presence against the static beauty of the stone.
Complementing the stone dials are opaline inner flanges in matching hues, each printed with golden-colored numerals. The hour and minute hands are crafted in gold and semi-skeletonized, with luminescent tips for low-light legibility. This careful balance between vibrant color, natural texture, and mechanical sophistication makes the dial of each model a central focus and a statement of artisanal elegance.

Audemars Piguet Code 11:59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 38mm

The “Audemars Piguet Code 11:59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 38mm” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 2968, with 33 jewels, 226 components, and 21,600 vph. This ultra-thin flying tourbillon caliber was specifically developed for watches under 41mm and features a peripheral rotor for enhanced energy efficiency. Power reserve can last up to 50 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on each watch is a color-matched alligator leather strap: blue for the sodalite, red for the ruby root, and green for the malachite, secured by a gold triple-folding clasp that matches the case metal. These vibrant tones and high-end materials reinforce the watch’s luxurious presence on the wrist, while the compact 38mm case diameter and 9.6mm thickness ensure a balanced, elegant fit for a wide range of wrist sizes.
Each of the three Audemars Piguet Code 11:59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 38mm models is limited to just 150 pieces, making this stone-dial trilogy a rare and collectible addition to the brand’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
