A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Time Zone iN Platinium
Back in 2005 was when A. Lange & Söhne first introduced their “Lange 1 Time Zone” model, offering an easy way to read local and second time zone times simultaneously. It was followed up in 2020, with a very limited edition version in three variations that featured a new in-house caliber. Now they’ve added another version of the Lange 1 Time Zone in a 950-platinum case and monochrome color scheme dial. The 41.9 mm case is made of platinum 950 with a shiny polished bezel, while the caseband offers a brushed finish. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It's been adorned with the classic three-quarter untreated German silver plate decorated with ribbing, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, and the hand-engraved floral pattern on the balance cock.It comes equipped with a knurled setting crown, plus a pusher at 10 o'clock to set the oversized date, and a pusher at 8 o'clock to select the city and set time in the second time zone. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (96 feet).Time is exhibited on a solid silver dial (a rhodié-colored dial, as described on the official site), while the main time is on a larger rhodium-plated, off-centered display with applied gold rhodium-plated diamond-shaped hour index markers and the Roman numerals: 3, 9, and 12.There is an outer ring circling near the bezel that now has dots separating the 24 city names and the “GMT” in red. There is a big date window at 1 o'clock, followed by a power reserve indicator between 2 and 4 o'clock, and the second time zone counter at 5 o'clock with a red marker to match the GMT highlight on the city track ring running around the periphery. All the hands are also gold rhodium-plated.
