Zenith Chronomaster Revival Liberty
Elections are upon us and all eyes are set on who will lead the United States of America forward these next four years. Although this latest watch by Zenith is not specifically “election themed” it is an exclusive North American market release, named “Liberty”. A direct reference to America’s heritage and our “Statue of Liberty”. Just last year Zenith celebrated the 50th anniversary of the El Primero caliber, which can also be found within this new version of their famous reference A384 timepiece. The 37mm tonneau-shaped case is made of stainless-steel with a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. This is a faithful reproduction of the A384 case, released back in 1969. Zenith even resorted to the original blueprints to precisely recreate the angular architecture of this finely crafted watch. It comes equipped with two mushroom-style push-pieces to operate the chronograph functions and screw-in setting crown. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal with a water-resistance of 50 meters (164 feet).Time is exhibited on a gradient blue dial with steel applied hour index markers, followed by small white printed seconds and minute markers. Followed by a tachymeter scale with white numerals. There is also a date aperture between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions with red numerals. That slight dash of color, along with the “candy cane” red-striped central chronograph hand, bestows this watch with a patriotic: red, white, and blue color scheme. It also includes three white sub-dials: a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock; a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock; and a sub-seconds at the 9 o’clock position. The stainless-steel central hour/minutes baton-style hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a green luminescence, for an enhanced legibility.
