Zenith Chronomaster Original Lapis Lazuli

Zenith Chronomaster Original Lapis Lazuli

Zenith continues to expand its high-complication offerings with the new Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar Lapis Lazuli (Ref. 03.3400.3610/51.C910), a richly detailed timepiece that blends vintage El Primero aesthetics with modern functionality. Housed in a compact 38mm stainless steel case, this model combines a complete calendar, moonphase, and high-frequency chronograph with a striking lapis lazuli dial, a natural stone rarely seen in such technically integrated watches. Designed to mark Zenith’s 160th anniversary and its ongoing tribute to the color blue, this release adds refined elegance and collectible appeal to the Chronomaster lineup.

This new Chronomaster model is housed in a stainless steel case measuring 38mm in diameter, approximately 14mm in height, and 46mm from lug to lug. The compact profile draws from the design of the 1969 El Primero A386, offering a balanced and highly wearable presence on the wrist. The case features polished and brushed finishes that accentuate its classic geometry and crisp edges.
Flipping the watch over reveals a screwed caseback fitted with a sapphire crystal that offers a clear view of the El Primero 3610 movement. While the decoration is relatively restrained, the architecture of the chronograph caliber takes visual precedence, with sharply defined components and the star-shaped Zenith rotor finished with satin brushing. The layout provides a compelling display of the column wheel and chronograph mechanism in action, staying true to Zenith’s emphasis on mechanical substance over ornamental flourish.
It comes equipped with a push-pull crown and rectangular pushers for chronograph actuation. The case architecture includes short lugs that hug the wrist and subtle pump-style pushers flanking the crown for the chronograph and calendar adjustments. All is topped by a domed sapphire crystal that enhances visual clarity while protecting the dial. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (165 feet).
The dial  is crafted from natural stone, bringing unique texture and visual richness to the design. Its deep blue surface, characteristic of lapis lazuli, is flecked with subtle golden inclusions that shimmer under light, making each piece slightly different from the next. This natural beauty is framed by the watch’s classic tri-compax chronograph layout, preserving the DNA of the El Primero A386.The calendar functions are seamlessly integrated: the day and month windows sit at 10 and 2 o’clock respectively, while the date is displayed through an angled aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock. At 3 o’clock, the chronograph’s 60-second counter balances the 60-minute totalizer and moon phase display at 6 o’clock. Small seconds are positioned at 9 o’clock. Despite the abundance of information, the typography and layout maintain excellent readability and symmetry.Rhodium-plated, faceted hour markers and hands bring refined contrast to the dial and are coated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1 for low-light visibility. The inner flange features a 1/10th of a second track, a signature of Zenith’s high-frequency chronograph capability.

The result is a dial that is both technically accomplished and visually striking, balancing natural artistry with horological precision.
