With the 2025 Tour de France fast approaching, Tudor continues its commitment to cycling with the release of the Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow, a vibrant, performance-driven chronograph designed in tribute to racing legend Fabian Cancellara. Marking Cancellara’s return to the Tour as a team owner, this limited edition of 300 pieces builds on the foundation of the brand’s FXD Chrono series, now dressed in the iconic yellow livery of the Maillot Jaune. Lightweight, tactical, and thematically precise, this new model bridges professional racing heritage with Tudor’s reputation for rugged, purpose-built sports watches.
The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow Limited Edition features a 43mm case made from lightweight carbon composite with a matte black finish that gives the watch a stealthy and technical appearance. It measures 13.2mm thick and forgoes conventional spring bars in favor of fixed titanium bars that extend from the case, hence the FXD name. The fixed titanium bezel is engraved with a 60-minute scale, while the matte black carbon finish extends seamlessly from the case middle to the lug modules.
Flipping the watch over, the solid titanium caseback is engraved with the Tudor shield, individual numbering, and celebratory references to the team of cyclists. This case construction offers both rigidity and reduced weight, reinforcing the performance-oriented spirit of the watch while maintaining a durable and tactical profile on the wrist.
It comes equipped with a screw-down titanium crown set with the Tudor shield in relief and direct-action pushers for the chronograph. The dial of the Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow is matte black with a utilitarian, high-contrast layout designed for legibility and performance. Arranged in a bi-compax configuration, it features a 45-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock and running seconds at 9 o’clock, with a date window positioned discreetly at 6. The design retains the symmetry and visual balance established in previous FXD chronograph editions, now enhanced with cycling-specific functionality.
Surrounding the periphery is a unique tachymeter scale calibrated for cycling speeds, a rare but thoughtful detail that reflects the watch’s connection to professional road racing. Rather than measuring automotive velocities, the scale is optimized to display average speeds typically seen during elite cycling competitions, making it both thematically and practically suited for its intended audience. Bright yellow accents on the sub-dial hands and tachymeter numerals provide a clear reference to the “maillot jaune”, the iconic jersey of the Tour de France leader.
The hour markers are square and fully applied, while the hands follow Tudor’s signature “snowflake” design, all made from a luminous ceramic composite for strong low-light performance. The “Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow” (Ref#: 25827KNJN) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber MT5813 with 41 jewels and 28,800 vph. It is based on the Breitling B01 movement. Derived from the Breitling B01 architecture and modified by Tudor, it features a column-wheel chronograph with vertical clutch, a non-magnetic silicon balance spring, and a variable inertia balance. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a one-piece black technical fabric strap with a central yellow stripe, secured by a black-coated titanium buckle. It echoes the aesthetic of professional cycling gear while reinforcing the athletic character of the matte black carbon case.
