Unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2025, the Tudor Black Bay 68 marks a bold shift in the evolution of the brand’s iconic dive watch line by scaling up to a larger 43mm case size. In contrast to recent years’ trend toward downsizing with the Black Bay 58 and 54, this new reference responds to the demand for broader wrist presence while maintaining the familiar design language of the Black Bay collection. Offered with sun-brushed dials in silver or blue and paired with the brand’s robust METAS-certified movement, the Black Bay 68 blends heritage cues, professional-grade specs, and contemporary versatility into one of Tudor’s most confident releases to date.
This model introduces a bold 43mm case diameter with a thickness of 13.6mm, marking the largest standard Black Bay diver to date. Crafted from stainless steel, the case retains the signature Black Bay styling with vertically brushed surfaces, polished bevels along the lugs, and a domed sapphire crystal adding to its vintage appeal. Surrounding the dial is a 60-minute unidirectional bezel in stainless steel, fitted with a matte black aluminium insert and detailed with crisp markings for dive timing. The overall construction reflects the familiar proportions and visual language of the Black Bay line, but scaled for those seeking a larger presence on the wrist.
On the reverse, the case is sealed by a screwed-in solid steel caseback, preserving the tool-watch integrity of the Black Bay collection. The closed design aligns with Tudor’s traditional approach, keeping the movement out of sight while maintaining maximum structural resilience and understated appeal. The plain back allows the focus to remain on the front-facing aesthetics, while reinforcing the professional-grade build quality.
It comes equipped with a screw-down crown bearing the Tudor rose emblem, fluted for grip and proportionally reduced in size for improved ergonomics. The bezel is well-defined with deep notching, echoing the design evolution seen in recent Black Bay Monochrome models. Water-resistance can reach up to 200 meters (660 feet).
Time is exhibited on a domed sun-brushed dial available in either silver or Tudor blue, each offering a contemporary yet classic interpretation of dive watch aesthetics. The silver model features black-outlined markers and hands for high contrast,
while the blue variant is paired with silver-toned accents for a tonal, refined appearance. Both options maintain the clean symmetry and visual clarity typical of the Black Bay line, with applied hour markers set against a subtly textured radial finish that plays with the light at different angles. The layout remains focused and highly legible, with no date window or sub-dials to interrupt the design. At the center, Tudor’s hallmark Snowflake hands provide a bold visual anchor, and their wide surfaces ensure strong visibility. The applied round and rectangular indices, paired with a triangle at 12 o’clock, maintain the traditional dive watch language the Black Bay has become known for, while subtly refined proportions help the design scale effectively to the larger 43mm case.
All dial elements, including the hour markers and Snowflake hands, are generously filled with Super-Luminova to ensure low-light readability. The luminous treatment offers a clear green glow in darkness, enhancing the Black Bay 68’s role as a reliable tool watch. The restrained color palette and brushed finish reinforce the practical yet stylish appeal of Tudor’s expanding dive watch family.
