As part of its 2025 Carrera refresh, TAG Heuer unveils the new Carrera Date Twin-Time WDA2114.BA0043, a long-overdue update that breathes life into the brand’s GMT offering with bold color, improved legibility, and a far more refined aesthetic. Retaining the trusted 41mm Carrera case, this latest Twin-Time introduces a teal sunray dial, a redesigned red GMT hand, and the new TH31-03 automatic calibre with an 80-hour power reserve. It’s a fresh and confident reimagining of a once-underwhelming model, now equipped to stand out both visually and technically within TAG’s modern lineup.
The new “Carrera Date Twin-Time” is housed in a familiar 41mm stainless steel case, retaining the sharp lines, faceted lugs, and polished-beveled detailing that define the modern Carrera design language. At 12.7mm thick, it’s only marginally taller than its predecessor, preserving its balanced proportions and wearability. The lug-to-lug measurement of 47.5mm ensures a confident yet manageable wrist presence, ideal for daily wear or travel. On the reverse, a sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the newly upgraded calibre TH31-03. Developed in partnership with Sellita’s AMT division, this automatic movement offers an impressive 80-hour power reserve and features an independently adjustable GMT hand for tracking a second time zone. Its layout is clean and modern, with industrial finishing that matches the technical tone of the updated Carrera design. The visible movement brings a welcome mechanical presence to the otherwise sleek and minimalist exterior.
It comes equipped with a polished steel crown positioned at 3 o’clock and is fitted with sapphire crystals on both sides, offering clarity and scratch resistance. The combination of classic Carrera geometry and versatile dimensions makes this GMT-equipped model both refined and functional. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a vibrant teal sunray-brushed dial, adding a fresh and dynamic character to the Carrera Twin-Time. Framed by a newly oriented bi-color 24-hour flange in silver and teal, the dial features rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and slender, luminescent hour and minute hands. The red “Twin-Time” inscription above 6 o’clock injects a touch of contrast, mirrored by the striking red GMT hand, which extends across the dial for high visibility and intuitive reading. The GMT hand itself has been entirely redesigned, now a long, sharply faceted pointer reminiscent of a watchmaker’s tweezers or the Transamerica Pyramid. It tracks a fixed 24-hour scale at the periphery of the dial,
offering second time zone functionality while avoiding visual clutter. A slim minute track is nestled between the dial and flange, contributing to precise reading and enhanced structure.
The central hands and the minute track appear to be treated with Super-LumiNova, though the Arabic numerals are not luminescent. A color-matched date window at 6 o’clock replaces the numeral in a more integrated and thoughtful layout than the previous model. The overall composition feels both contemporary and legible, showing clear attention to proportion, contrast, and detail in this updated GMT execution.
