Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 5320G-011

Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 5320G-011

Back in 2017 we were presented with the “Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 5320G”, which now reappeared at Watches & Wonders 2022. In essence this is the same timepiece from five years ago. It features the same case and caliber movement, while the novelty comes in the form of a new salmon colored lacquered dial. The 40mm case is made of 18k white gold with a mirror shine polished finish and a height of 11.13mm. It was crafted from a single block of white gold and then hand-finished in order to include those precise lines. It features finely crafted three-tiered faceted lugs, also referred to as “claw lugs”, which further refine its subtle attention to detail. On the flip-side is an interchangeable solid 18k white gold caseback and sapphire crystal that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It comes equipped with a knurled setting-crown embossed with the Calatrava cross. While discreetly tucked away on the left-side of the case is the small pusher that allows to set the perpetual calendar. All covered by a box-type sapphire crystal that elevates the case height, by being raised higher above the bezel. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 30 meters (96 feet).Time is exhibited on a lacquered salmon opaline dial with applied blackened gold Arabic numerals, followed by a ring of black printed minutes/seconds with a small dot for every 5-minute increment that also doubles as an hour marker. On the upper-half are two rectangular windows for the weekday and month, while on the lower-half is a moon-phase indicator framed by numerals that represent the current date. The moon-phase we find here requires a correction by one day, after every 122 year interval. It also includes a small day/night aperture between the 7 and 8 o’clock position; as well as a small aperture for the leap year cycle symmetrically positioned between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.Much of these dial schematics have been employed on all perpetual calendar timepieces made by Patek Philippe since 1941.The central sharp-tipped rectangular “syringe style” hands, Arabic numerals, and dot hour index markers have all been filled with a green luminescent coating, for an enhance legibility.

Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 5320G-011

The “Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar” (Ref#: 5320G-011) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 324 S Q with 29 jewels, 367 parts and 28,800 Vph. Power reserve on this timepiece can last up to 45 hours, when fully wound. Mounted on the watch is a hand-stitched brown alligator leather strap with large square scales, secured by a deployment clasp in 18k white gold. For more up to date information visit the official Patek Philippe website here.
