Panerai Luminor Venticinque PAM02025
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Paneristi, a dedicated community of Panerai enthusiasts, Panerai has unveiled the Luminor Venticinque PAM02025. This special edition watch, launched at the recent P-Day 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, honors the rich history of the Luminor while incorporating modern design elements. Based on the iconic Luminor 1950 PAM00127, the PAM02025 features a “brunito” steel case and a distinctive gradient blue sandwich dial, combining vintage charm with contemporary aesthetics. With a limited production of 1,000 pieces, and available now for pre-order with deliveries starting in September 2025.
The 44mm diameter case is made from “brunito” steel, a modern twist on Panerai’s vintage-inspired designs. The case is treated with a faux-aged finish that gives it the appearance of wear, achieved by first coating the steel in black, followed by a process of tumbling, polishing, and brushing to create a randomly brushed patina. This distressed look evokes the worn appearance of vintage watches, appealing to enthusiasts who appreciate the brand’s historic roots while offering a contemporary interpretation.
On the reverse side, the case back is engraved with a special 25th anniversary logo, commemorating the Paneristi community’s long-standing dedication to the brand. The combination of the “brunito” steel finish and the robust design details makes this watch a standout piece that bridges Panerai’s historical designs with modern innovations. The 1950-style case stays true to the original Luminor design, with its signature crown-lock bridge, giving the PAM02025 the robust and functional aesthetic Panerai is known for. The domed sapphire crystal adds to the vintage charm of the watch, providing a clear view of the distinctive dial while enhancing the overall retro appeal. The shorter lugs, combined with the 44mm size, make the watch wearable for a broader audience without compromising the bold presence on the wrist. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet).Time is exhibited on a gradient blue dial, which starts with a lighter blue at the center, while darkening towards black at the edges, creating a sense of depth and visual intrigue. The grained surface of the dial adds texture and breaks the simplicity of traditional designs. This gradient effect is a contemporary twist on Panerai’s classic aesthetic, emphasizing the watch’s blend of heritage and modernity. The dial also has a modern take on the brand’s signature “sandwich” dial design, which consists of two stacked discs. The lower disc features luminous print that shines through cut-outs on the upper disc, creating a distinctive, three-dimensional look for the hour markers. The Super-Luminova used for the lume has an ivory tone, providing a vintage feel that contrasts beautifully with the modern, gradient blue color of the dial.At the heart of the design are the gilt “pencil” hands, which are also coated with Super-Luminova for excellent legibility in low light. The dial is clean and minimalist, displaying only the hours and minutes for an uncluttered look. The combination of the smoked blue dial, the luminous cut-out markers, and the gilt hands creates a visually striking timepiece that stays true to Panerai’s tradition while offering a fresh, modern aesthetic.
