Panerai Luminor Dieci Giorni GMT PAM 01482
Panerai began its journey with in-house calibers in 2005 with the P.2002, a hand-wound movement featuring an eight-day power reserve and GMT. By 2007, Panerai had introduced the P.2003, its first automatic movement made in-house, now powering the new Luminor Dieci Giorni GMT. This model is part of Panerai’s Complicazioni collection which showcases advanced calibers, and now extends the brand’s legacy with a 10-day power reserve and a linear indicator. Although the P.2003 caliber was developed nearly two decades ago, it remains integral to Panerai's portfolio, appearing in numerous models within the Radiomir and Luminor collections. The 44mm cushion-shaped case, with a thickness of 14.80mm, is made of polished stainless steel, showcasing Panerai's commitment to robust and elegant design. This substantial case upholds the brand's legacy of creating durable and visually appealing watches that are suitable for both sporting and formal occasions. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features several jewels, golden gears, and an open-worked oscillating weight with the “OP” logo.
It also comes equipped with short stubby lugs with exposed screws, and the iconic extra reinforced Panerai crown guard featuring a detachable security lever. These protective characteristics further enhance the watch’s operational security and overall robustness. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a blue "sandwich" sun-brushed dial, known for its layered construction that enhances legibility and depth. The dial boasts a linear power reserve display at 6 o'clock, uniquely indicating up to 10 days, or "dieci giorni" as its Italian name clearly states.
Additionally, it features an orange arrow-headed GMT hand and a smaller arrow for AM/PM indications, along with a running seconds sub-dial, all located at 9 o'clock. The dial's visibility in low light is ensured by luminescent material filling the hands and the cut-out Arabic numerals and indices on the upper layer of the sandwich structure. A date aperture at 3 o'clock rounds out the dial’s functionalities, providing all essential information at a glance.
