Oris Big Crown Hank Aaron Limited Edition
Devoted to instigating positive change, Oris proudly lends its support to charitable endeavors that empower young individuals through education and sports. In continuation of their collaboration with the Roberto Clemente Foundation, Oris now pays tribute to Hank Aaron with a one-of-a-kind limited-edition watch. This exceptional timepiece is the outcome of a partnership with the Chasing the Dream Foundation, an organization founded by Hank Aaron and his wife, Billye, in 1994.
The 40mm multi-piece case is made of stainless-steel with an overall brushed finish, while mounted to the case is a steel coin-edge bezel. This design is reminiscent of certain vintage pilot watches, specifically the “Big Crown Pointer”. 
On the flip-side is a solid steel screw-on caseback engraved with the image of Hank Aaron, bat in hand after hitting what we have to imagine was another home run towards establishing his Hall of Fame status. Plus the unique limited edition number for each of these historically themed timepieces.
It comes equipped with its signature screw-down security “big crown”, embossed by the Oris logo. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal on both sides with an anti-reflective coating inside. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).
Time is exhibited on a white dial with red painted Arabic numerals with a blue outline, followed by a blue railroad motif minute index grid with a red outline. This is an American color scheme of red, white, and blue to celebrate one of the country's major pastimes in sports. But this color palette can also be linked to the Atlanta Braves uniform, which was the team Hank Aaron played for during his career.
Circling around the flange is a calendar ring, which is pointed out by a thin hand with a red tip, efficiently highlighting it apart from all the other indications. 
Its cathedral style central hands were crafted in a vintage aviator aesthetic. Plus the central hands and small cube-shaped indices near the Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

The “Oris Big Crown Hank Aaron Limited Edition” (Ref#: 754 7785 4081-Set) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 754 with 26 jewels and 28,800 vph. Movement is based on the original SW 200-1 caliber, although further enhanced. Power reserve can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is a blue leather strap with white double stitchins inspired by a baseball glove, secured by a steel pin buckle. It also comes with an additional blue, red, and white NATO fabric strap and a strap change tool. 
This is a limited edition of only 2,297 manufactured pieces, which represents his unbeaten record for runs batted in. It also comes in a special commemorative box with Hank Aaron's jersey number 44 on it.
