Omega introduces a refined evolution of the Speedmaster Moonphase with the new Moonphase Meteorite models, showcasing slimmer dimensions, modern updates, and an emphasis on celestial charm. These timepieces pay homage to the Moonwatch legacy, incorporating a new hand-wound movement, genuine Moon meteorite details, and a more wearable design. Available in two striking variations, they blend Omega’s cutting-edge innovation with a celebration of space exploration.
The case of the Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite measures 43mm in diameter, 13.6mm in thickness, and 48.6mm from lug to lug, offering a modernized and more compact profile compared to previous iterations. Maintaining the classic Speedmaster design language, it features an asymmetrical stainless steel construction with lyre lugs and a combination of brushed and polished finishes. These elements come together to create a balanced look that exudes both elegance and sportiness.
On the flip-side we encounter a sapphire exhibition case back that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It offers a clear view of the hand-wound calibre 9914, highlighting Omega’s meticulous finishing, including Geneva waves in arabesque and red-filled engravings.
Encircling the dial is a fixed ceramic bezel available in either black or blue, both featuring a tachymeter scale rendered in white enamel for a clean and precise aesthetic. The choice of ceramic ensures scratch resistance and long-lasting vibrancy, while the bezel’s refined design aligns with the timeless Speedmaster ethos.
All topped by a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides completes the front, ensuring excellent legibility under various lighting conditions. It also comes equipped with a push-pull crown, elegantly knurled for easy handling, and streamlined chronograph pushers, blending practicality with the watch’s sleek profile. Water resistance can reach up to 50 meters (167 feet).
The dials on these watches are a visual spectacle, crafted from genuine meteorite material and featuring intricate design elements that enhance their celestial theme. Offered in two versions, the first showcases a galvanic grey-coated meteorite dial with a blue PVD-coated base, while the second features a black PVD-coated meteorite dial on a matching black base. Both dials exude sophistication, with their distinctive textures and cosmic origins lending a unique aesthetic to each piece.The layout remains classic yet functional, featuring a 12-hour and 60-minute chronograph sub-dial at 3 o’clock, a small seconds sub-dial with a date hand at 9 o’clock, and a double moonphase display at 6 o’clock. The moons, crafted from genuine Moon meteorite, rotate against a starry backdrop representing the exact position of the stars as seen from Omega’s headquarters in Biel on the night of Apollo 11’s historic lunar landing.

Adding practicality and legibility, the applied hour markers and hands are crafted from 18K white gold, coated in blue PVD for the blue model and left in their natural finish for the black version. Both feature Super-LumiNova inserts for enhanced visibility in low light, and red accents on the date hand and Speedmaster logo add a dynamic contrast to the otherwise monochromatic palette.

The “Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite” (References below) are powered by the hand-wound in-house mechanical movement, caliber 9914 with 45 jewels and 28,800 Vph. It comes equipped with a co-axial escapement and silicon balance spring. Power reserve can last up to 60 hours, when fully wound. It is a METAS-certified master chronometer movement.
Mounted on the watch is a stainless steel bracelet featuring a refined “Nixon-style” design with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces.
