Omega has discreetly introduced a new pinnacle in the Speedmaster lineup, the full platinum Speedmaster Calibre 321 with a matching platinum bracelet. This release builds upon the 2019 platinum version by adding a solid Pt950Au20 platinum bracelet, making it one of the most luxurious Speedmasters ever created. With its black onyx dial, lunar meteorite sub-dials, and historically significant hand-wound Calibre 321, this six-figure timepiece is an ultra-exclusive evolution of the legendary Moonwatch.Crafted from Omega’s proprietary Pt950Au20 platinum and gold alloy, the case of the new Speedmaster 321 in platinum maintains the 42mm diameter of a classic Moonwatch while measuring 13.4mm in thickness and 47.6mm lug-to-lug. Its polished and brushed surfaces highlight the refined nature of this ultra-luxurious model, while the signature asymmetrical case with lyre lugs ensures it retains the Speedmaster’s iconic shape. The fixed black ceramic bezel features a white enamel tachymeter scale, reinforcing the blend of high-end materials and traditional Moonwatch aesthetics. Turning the watch over, the screwed-in platinum caseback is equipped with a sapphire crystal window, offering a clear view of the historically significant Calibre 321. This manually wound column-wheel chronograph movement is an exact reproduction of the legendary caliber found in early Speedmasters, made even more striking with Sedna gold PVD-coated bridges and plates.
It comes equipped with a knurled crown, featuring the Omega logo, designed for ease of winding, and complemented by polished piston-style chronograph pushers, all made of the same Pt950Au20 platinum alloy as the case. All topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal that features anti-reflective coating for enhanced legibility. Water resistance can reach up to 50 meters (167 feet).
Time is exhibited on an elegant black onyx step dial, providing a deep, polished surface that enhances the watch’s refined aesthetic. The contrast between the smooth, glossy black and the applied 18K white gold markers, hands, and vintage Ω logo creates a visually striking effect. Staying true to classic Speedmaster design, the dial maintains a tri-compax layout with a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute chronograph register at 3 o’clock, and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock. One of the defining features of this model is the grey lunar meteorite sub-dials, an extraordinary material sourced from actual Moon meteorites. These sub-dials give each watch a unique texture and appearance, reinforcing the Speedmaster’s legacy as the first watch worn on the Moon. The chronograph counters are slightly recessed, adding depth to the dial and maintaining the step-dial architecture of vintage Speedmasters. The applied Omega logo in 18K white gold at 12 o’clock is a nostalgic nod to pre-1970s Moonwatch designs, further solidifying the watch’s historical significance.The tachymeter scale, a signature element of the Speedmaster, is present on the black ceramic bezel insert, featuring a white enamel scale for enhanced longevity and legibility.
