IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 Watch iN Steel

IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 Watch iN Steel

Unveiled at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025, the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 IW344903 marks a milestone in IWC’s ongoing evolution of its iconic Ingenieur line. For the first time, the bold, Gérald Genta-inspired design is paired with the brand’s in-house perpetual calendar mechanism, originally developed by legendary watchmaker Kurt Klaus. Housed in stainless steel and distinguished by its refined grid-pattern dial, this new reference merges high-complication watchmaking with a sporty, integrated aesthetic, reinforcing IWC’s reputation for technical innovation and modern elegance.
The case measuring 41.6mm in diameter and 13.4mm in height is made of stainless-steel. True to the design language originally shaped by Gérald Genta, the case features a robust geometric profile with a round bezel secured by five functional screws, each aligned to maintain a cohesive visual flow. A combination of satin-brushed and polished surfaces across the case and bezel enhances the architectural lines, while polished outer edges provide a refined contrast that elevates the sporty silhouette.
On the reverse, a sapphire crystal exhibition window is enclosed by a polished steel ring, offering a full view of the IWC-manufactured 82600 calibre. The decorative finishing, circular graining, Geneva stripes, and blued screws, is clearly visible, and highlights the brand’s commitment to mechanical refinement. The oscillating weight, part of the Pellaton winding system, is also in plain view, offering a glimpse of the movement’s efficiency-enhancing ceramic components.
It comes equipped with a screw-in crown engraved with IWC’s “Probus Scafusia” motto, reinforcing the watch’s heritage and attention to detail. The case design is complemented by a seamlessly integrated stainless steel H-link bracelet with a butterfly clasp, ensuring both comfort and coherence in design. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a deep blue dial distinguished by IWC’s signature ‘Grid’ pattern, a textured motif that adds both visual depth and structural clarity. The layout is clean yet complex, framed by applied hour markers and rhodium-plated hands that contrast sharply against the dial’s surface. The combination of polished elements and a matte-patterned base creates an engaging play of light across the display, while maintaining excellent legibility.
The dial integrates three subdials arranged in a classic tri-compax configuration. At 3 o’clock, the date is displayed; at 6 o’clock, the month is combined with a perpetual moon phase indicator, an ultra-precise mechanism with a deviation of just one day every 577.5 years. The subdial at 9 o’clock shows the day of the week and incorporates a subtle leap year indicator, allowing a complete overview of the perpetual calendar’s cycle at a glance. All subdials feature a sunray finish with azurage on their outer tracks and are pad-printed after coloring for sharp readability.
The hour and minute hands, as well as the hand-applied markers, are treated with Super-LumiNova to ensure visibility in low-light conditions. Their rhodium plating complements the dial’s overall cool tone, while the balanced subdial layout and luminous accents enhance both utility and refinement in this high-complication model.
