The SeaQ collection was first introduced by Glashütte, back in 2019. It was launched from the start with two very similar variations, which could be told apart by a standard sized date, or the larger panorama date. The latest update is related to the latter “Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date”, now available with a textured reed green dial. The round 43.2mm case is made of stainless-steel with some polished accents, but an overall radial brushed finish. Mounted to the case is a unidirectional rotating bezel with a green ceramic insert that features a 60--minute scale.
On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It is decorated by a 21k gold oscillating rotor, shaped in the form of two cut out “G’s” for Glashütte.
It comes equipped with a knurled screw-down crown, placed between a pair of subtle crown guards. The main case has a very compact design with short cut-off lug tips. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 300 meters (984 feet).
Time is exhibited on a varnish reed green dial with applied white Arabic numerals, followed by a track of white printed minuted index markers. The green dial is permeated by a grainy and textured finish that adds some depth.
The central rhodium-plated hands vary with a sword-shape (hours) and arrow-tipped (minutes). These hands, Arabic numerals, and index markers have all been fitted with a Super-LumiNova coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a panorama date with white numerals, but a green background to perfectly blend with the rest of the dial.
