In current times many brands have begun to embrace the unisex watch category. This isn’t a new concept, there have always been watches that could and were worn by both men and women. While there were also watches that could be described as being more fit for one gender, instead of the other. But, as these labels become more debatable, embracing the unisex stance seems more reasonable. Now with all that in mind Corum has released a new dark toned, redesigned “Admiral” model for smaller wrists of any kind.The 38 mm dodecagonal shaped case is made of grade 5 titanium with black PVD treatment that provides a very glossy finish. Mounted to the case is a matching bezel in terms of materials and design. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It comes equipped with a screw-down crown, positioned between two crown guards with two golden screws holding them in place, while reinforcing the core color scheme. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a black dial with applied gold colored indices, except for the applied Corum key logo at 12 o’clock with the brand name underneath. Meanwhile the sloped flange includes gold-toned minute markers and nautical pennants, which reinforce its ocean bound theme.Permeating the majority of the dial is the Grenadier Fendu pattern, which was first introduced by the brand in 2019. Since then it has become a main symbol of the Admiral collection. Its three-dimensional pattern seems to pop-out more thanks to all the contrasting gold components. The golden dauphine-style openworked hour and minute hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a white Super-LumiNova coating. It features a central seconds hand with a golden Corum key counterweight. There is also a golden framed date window with white background at 3 o'clock.

The “Corum Admiral 38 Automatic” (Ref#: A082/04368 - 082.202.95/F371 AN25) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber CO 082 with 21 jewels and 28,800 vph. This is a Soprod A10 or ETA 2892-A2 movement, specifically altered to specifications set by Corum. Power reserve can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound.Mounted on the watch is a black rubber strap embossed with Corum key logo, secured to the wrist by a stainless-steel with black PVD triple-folding clasp. For more up to date information visit the official Corum website here.
