Breitling Top Time Deus iN Blue

Adventurers of all sorts can recognize the Australian lifestyle company Deus Ex Machina. Their partnership with Breitling started last year and the follow up “Breitling Top Time Deus” is already here. This watch has a very cool style as the brand explains “the Top Time Deus is a nod to Breitling’s original 1960s watch and a true tribute to the nomad spirit.“The 41mm case is made of stainless-steel with a mirror-like polished finish, plus long protruding lugs for a comfortable wrist fit. It comes equipped with two mushroom-style push-pieces to operate the chronograph functions.In between those is a non screw locked setting-crown, equipped with one gasket and adorned by the Breitling “B” logo. All topped by a convex sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet). Just as the previous model this edition continues with the same collaborative spirit and sporty theme. The snapped case back is engraved with a Deus-style motorcycle and rider in full throttle, designed by the Deus creative director Carby Tuckwell. The limited edition “ONE OF 2000” engraving can also be seen on the steel rim. Time is exhibited on an off-white dial with applied hour index markers, closely followed by black printed minute markers and small squared details at each hour spot. Then further out on the flange is a light “sky” blue colored tachymeter ring with a few orange toned highlights and the Deus motto “IN BENZIN VERITAS”, which roughly translates to “in petrol we trust, naturally”.The tachymeter hue matches up with the two sky blue sub-dials that appear sloped with snailed interiors: a 30-minute counter with a red-hand at 3 o’clock and a small-seconds with an orange hand at 9 o’clock. The distinctive “Deus” shield can still be seen on the lower-half of the dial, but the “TOP TIME” inscription has moved under the “Breitling” logo on the upper-half of the dial. It is a minor modification that brings more prominence to the “Deus” brand.

The “Breitling Top Time Deus” (Ref#: A233112A1A1X1) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, Breitling caliber 23 with 27 jewels and 28,800 vph. Power reserve can last up to 48 hours, when fully wound. Mounted to the watch is a brown calfskin leather strap with racing-style perforations, secured to the wrist by a stainless-steel pin buckle. This is a limited edition of only 2,000 manufactured pieces.For more up to date information visit the official Breitling website here.
