The Breguet Tradition Chronograph 7077, now presented in a striking blue aesthetic, elevates the collection with a contemporary yet historically inspired design. First introduced in 2015, the Tradition Chronograph 7077 stands out as a technically ingenious timepiece with its independent chronograph mechanism. This 2024 release combines modernity and heritage through its bold Breguet Blue dial and meticulous craftsmanship, reaffirming its position as a masterpiece in the Tradition collection.
The case measures 44mm in diameter and 14.1mm in height, with a lug-to-lug distance of 48.65mm, all made of 18K white gold. The fluted caseband and straight soldered lugs reflect Breguet’s timeless design language, while the polished bezel adds a touch of refinement.
The rear sapphire caseback showcases the blade spring mechanism, a hallmark of the chronograph’s independent design. Finger bridges and gear trains provide architectural intrigue, while the frosted matte grey finish enhances the sense of depth and texture.
The crown, positioned traditionally at 3 o’clock, is accompanied by unconventional screw-lock chronograph pushers at 4 and 8 o’clock. This asymmetry adds a unique touch to the watch’s functionality. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
The dial of this chronograph stands out with its rich “Breguet Blue” galvanic treatment and elegant hand-guilloché Clous de Paris pattern on an 18K gold plate. It's off-centred design houses the hours and minutes, indicated by rhodium-plated, open-tipped Breguet hands that glide over two arched tracks: one for the 20-minute chronograph counter and another for the power reserve indicator.
The inner precision track for the chronograph seconds is marked in blue, offering enhanced legibility while complementing the overall aesthetic. The solid gold elements of the dial provide a striking contrast to the gray frosted bridges of the movement visible beneath.

The “Breguet Tradition Chronograph 7077” (Ref#: 7077BB/GY/9XV) is powered by the in-house hand-wound mechanical movement, caliber 580DR with 62 jewels and 417 components, which was designed to separate timekeeping and chronograph functions for optimal precision. The timekeeping side operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 55 hours, while the independent chronograph mechanism runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz) for precise 1/10th of a second measurements. The chronograph is powered by an innovative blade spring, which eliminates the need for manual winding and stores energy when the reset pusher is engaged.
Mounted on the watch is a deep blue alligator scaled leather strap, secured by an 18K white gold triple-blade folding clasp.
