Breguet Classique Calendar 7337

A very traditional watch just got a substantial makeover, but despite that its classical vibes still seem to shine through. We’re referring to the new “Breguet Classique Calendar 7337” which had already been reworked back in 2020. Now those alterations were taken a bit further by widening its date/day windows, plus repositioning the Breguet wordmark and number plaque. The video below is of the previous model, while all the photos are of the updated pair.   The round 39mm case is available in either 18k white or rose gold. They’ve been finely crafted with polished surfaces and decorated casebands with a fluted pattern that permeate its 9.95mm height. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that reveals a richly decorated movement. The bridges and oscillating weight have all been finely hand-engraved with chamfered finishes and a Côtes de Genève motif. Breguet used an open barrel that exposes the spring and an offset gold rotor that was engine-turned by hand. The long thin lugs have been welded on with screw bars for a reinforced hold. Despite all the modifications on the dial side, the case has maintained all the quality and robust features we’ve come to expect. It also comes equipped with a setting-crown embossed with the Breguet logo. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (98 feet).Time is exhibited on a white off-center dial with black Roman numerals, followed by a ring of studded minutes/seconds index markers. This portion of the dial is adorned by a very fine Clous de Paris hobnail guilloché pattern, which was hand engraved on a rose engine by the highly skilled artisans of Breguet. The outer dial features a circular weaved style pattern that extends all the way out towards its extremities. The date and day are displayed with wide windows in blue to stand out at the 2 and 10 o’clock positions. While placed between them at 12 o'clock is a moon phase aperture that features a hand-hammered gold moon and a sky coated with a blue lacquer, which is composed of small particles meant to resemble glittering stars. The central open-tipped Breguet hours/minutes hands are made of blued steel. All these blue colored elements scattered throughout the dial manage to enhance each other and create a cohesive look.
