Bell & Ross, renowned for its aviation instrument-inspired designs, also has a notable collection of dive watches. For its latest release of 2024, the brand has introduced a new generation of its BR 03 Diver series. This updated lineup includes five distinct models: three in stainless steel and two in black ceramic. While this new series represents an evolutionary refinement of the previous generation, the latest Bell & Ross BR 03 Diver watches incorporate several significant updates that set them apart from their predecessors. These changes include new ceramic bezel inserts, improved movements, and enhanced legibility features, ensuring that the BR 03 Diver collection continues to meet the high standards expected by diving enthusiasts and watch collectors alike.The three stainless steel models all feature a robust 42mm steel case with a combination of brushed and polished finishes, providing both durability and a refined appearance. The flat anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the unidirectional timing bezels now come with scratch-resistant ceramic inserts, enhancing their overall aesthetic and functionality.
The two black ceramic models with a matching matte black dial and the “Full Lum”, which features a fully luminous dial in a pale blue shade. The black ceramic cases offer exceptional resistance to scratches and corrosion, while the matte finish gives these watches a stealthy and modern look.
The use of ceramic bezel inserts across all models promises superior scratch resistance and longevity, a notable upgrade from the previous generation’s anodized aluminum inserts. Each watch also includes a screw-down crown at the 3 o’clock position, ensuring the integrity of its water resistance.
All five models are equipped with solid casebacks, further enhancing their durability and ability to withstand the rigors of underwater activities. Water resistance for the new BR 03 Diver models is rated at 300 meters (1000 feet), making them well-suited for serious diving adventures.
These new BR 03 Diver models feature dials that prioritize legibility and functionality, incorporating subtle updates to enhance their readability and overall aesthetic appeal. The stainless steel models include the black dial, which features a deep black dial with applied luminous hour markers and hands, ensuring optimal readability. The dial includes an angled chapter ring with a minute track and a circular date window at the 4:30 position, with a color-matched calendar disc to blend seamlessly with the dial. 
The white dial offers a clean and stark contrast, enhancing visibility and clarity under various lighting conditions. Similarly, the blue dial provides a vibrant, ocean-inspired aesthetic, complemented by matching blue hands and markers for a cohesive look.
The two black ceramic models also share these design elements but add their unique touches. The standard black ceramic version features a matching matte black dial, which pairs seamlessly with its case for a sleek, monochromatic look. 
On the other hand, the “Full Lum” version stands out with its fully luminous dial that appears in a pale shade of blue, ensuring maximum visibility even in the darkest environments.
All models feature applied luminous hour markers and hands, an angled chapter ring containing the minute track, and a circular date window at the 4:30 position, with the calendar disc color-matched to the dial for a cohesive appearance. The hour markers have been made slightly larger, and the typography has been revised for better readability. The most noticeable update is the new shape of the handset, featuring an hour hand with a large arrow-shaped tip to further promote at-a-glance access to the time.
Bell & Ross BR 03 Diver
The new “Bell & Ross BR 03 Diver” models (References below) are powered by the updated self-winding automatic caliber BR-CAL.302-1 with 25 jewels, and 28,800 vph. It is based on the reliable Sellita SW300 architecture. Power reserve can last up to 54 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on the watches is a rubber strap that complements the color of each dial, secured to the wrist by a matching pin buckle. The black and white stainless steel models (Ref# BR03A-D-BL-ST/SRB and BR03A-D-WH-ST/SRB) feature a black rubber strap, while the blue stainless steel model (Ref# BR03A-D-BLU-ST/SRB) is paired with a dark blue rubber strap to match its dial and bezel insert. Both black ceramic models (Ref# BR03A-D-BL-CE/SRB and BR03A-D-LM-CE/SRB) also come with black rubber straps, and all models include an additional nylon Velcro-style strap for versatile wear.
