Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze

Taking a dive turned out very positive for Bell & Ross, since the launch of their diver series (meeting proper specifications) in 2017. In less than a decade there have been many releases in the “BR 03-92 Diver” collection, which leads us to the start of mixing and matching of previous variants. The new “BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze” is essentially the combination of 2018’s “Brown Bronze” model with a new dial color. The end result is a very pleasing timepiece capable of aquatic depths, while exuding warm casual aesthetics for daily wear.The iconic square 42mm case is made of CuSn8 bronze, an alloy combining 92% copper and 8% tin. Due to this mix of materials the case will give off a rose-gold color while new, but will eventually gain some patina. Although Bell & Ross claim that as an advantage for this specific alloy because it will only produce some marginal patina over time.Mounted to the case is a solid bronze rotating unidirectional bezel with a brown anodized aluminium insert ring, featuring a 60-minute scale engraving. The four corners of the case have exposed screw tops also made of bronze to blend with its surroundings.For hypodermic reasons on the flip-side is a solid stainless-steel case back, which has been engraved with a deep-sea diver’s helmet and the unique number of each limited edition.It comes equipped with an anti-shock crown-guard lock and a rubber-coated setting-crown that features an engraving of the ampersand “&” Bell & Ross logo. Plus the watch has been constructed with a soft-iron cage to increase its resistance to magnetic fields. All topped by a thick 2.85mm sapphire crystal, which combined with the screw-down crown make it a legit diver watch. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet), which exceeds the minimum divers requisite of 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a silver opaline dial with gilded applied circle and rounded out hour index markers, followed by a ring of brown printed minute markings along a sloped flange.The rose gold-plated central hour/minute hands, applied index markers, and the single round dot on the slim "lollipop-style" seconds hand have all been fitted with a Super-LumiNova coating, for an enhanced legibility. It also includes a discreet circular tone-on-tone date aperture, placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.As we’ve highlighted before, one of the main pleasing aspects about the BR 03-92 Diver collection consists of their ability to preserve a simple design, while being truly robust watches. Most models use effective color schemes and the layout is very legible within its square framed circle theme. Plus the slight patina this specific new bronze case release may gain, will add an extra layer towards a unique bond between each individual piece and its proud owners.

Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze

The “Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze” (Ref#: BR0392-D-WH-BR/SCA) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber BR-CAL.302 with 25 jewels and 28,800 Vph. It is based on the Sellita SW300-1 with some custom modification and the addition of a date function. Power reserve can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound.Mounted to the watch is a brown calfskin leather with exposed stitching and a woven black weft rubber underside, secured to the wrist by a satin-finished and polished bronze pin buckle. It also includes an additional black rubber strap with divers in mind. This is a limited edition of only 999 manufactured pieces.
