42mm Apollo 11 40th Annniversary Moonwatch 2009

Here we have a piece of history in more ways than when. It was designed in commemorating the 40th anniversary of the moon landing in 1969. It features the Apollo 11 medallion on one of the sub-dials as well as an engraving of it on the case back. It also displays "02:56 GMT" on the dial in red, which was the exact time of Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon.

A total of 7,969 examples were made of this 40th anniversary Apollo XI.

Included with the watch is the full set, original box and papers (dated 2009). This model also came with an additional Apollo 11 medallion that can be seen in the pictures. There are blemishes visible on the leather of the inner box and card holder. 

As for the condition, it is impressive for a watch that has been ticking since 2009. The case does have areas of mirror-like finish which are prone to hairlines (marks visible when with high resolution cameras or if angled at certain lighting). The case is made of stainless steel, a combination of both mirror and satin finishes which give it a contrasting look. Mounted atop the case is a stainless steel bezel equipped with a black aluminum tachymeter-scaled bezel insert. The bracelet is of stainless steel as well, mostly displaying a satin finish with some mirror-finished highlights on the links (fits up to a 7.5 inch wrist comfortably). 

Functions are displayed on a black dial that is accompanied by index hour markers. Those functions include hours, minutes, sub-seconds and a three register chronograph. 

This watch has passed through our service center where it was first checked inside and out to certify its authenticity. After that, it passed a functionality test to confirm it is running up to manufacturer's standards and water resistant. Lastly, the serial number was run through a database to verify its legitimacy. We will issue receipts and a certificate of authenticity and test it once again prior to delivery. This watch will be backed by our in-house warranty.
