Jaeger LeCoultre is a Swiss luxury watch and clock manufacturer founded by Antoine LeCoultre in 1833 and is based Le Sentier, Switzerland. Since 2000 the company has been owned by the swiss luxury conglomerate Richemont.
When Antoine LeCoultre opened up a watch factory in Switzerland and began his career as a watchmaker. Antoine LeCoultre developed numerous new methods and manufacturing tools. When the company was in the hands of his grandson, David LeCoultre, the brand was merged with Edmond Jaegers company and that's how Jaeger LeCoultre was established.
Antoine created a button that could be push down to switch functions instead of utilizing keys to rewind and set the watch. After a watch was manufactured it had to be put through a 1000 hour test before it can be given to the consumer.
