Bulgari’s latest release for Geneva Watch Days is a tribute to both horology and music, marking a unique collaboration with iconic guitar maker Fender. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Fender Stratocaster, Bulgari introduces the Aluminium GMT x Fender, a limited edition of 1,200 pieces. This special timepiece draws inspiration from the design and colors of the legendary Stratocaster guitar, blending Bulgari’s avant-garde aesthetic with the spirit of rock and roll. Additionally, for true collectors, Bulgari has created 140 exclusive anniversary sets, which include a custom watch case inspired by Stratocaster guitar cases and 70 handcrafted Stratocaster guitars made at Fender’s Custom Shop.The 40mm case with a slim profile of 9.7mm ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist, designed in aluminum for both lightweight comfort and durability. Opting for this material definitely provides a modern, sporty appeal, which is 75% lighter than steel and 40% lighter than titanium. On the flip-side is a titanium caseback DLC-coated in black, enhancing the watch’s resilience and further reducing its weight. To keep with the theme it has been engraved by the Fender logo.It comes equipped with a setting-crown between discrete crown guards and aluminum “door hinge” lugs. The GMT hand can be adjusted in one-hour increments via the crown, making it practical for travelers needing to track a second time zone. Mounted on top is a brown rubber bezel embossed by the iconic double “Bvlgari Bvlgari” logo. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).The dial of the Bulgari Aluminium GMT x Fender takes direct inspiration from the classic Fender Stratocaster guitar. It features a striking light brown gradient that mirrors the lacquered look of the original instrument, adding a vintage, yet sophisticated, feel to the watch. The creamy white and dark brown 24-hour GMT scale encircles the dial, providing functionality with a nod to the aesthetic of the guitar’s fretboard.Maintaining the signature Bulgari look, the Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock are bold and clear, anchoring the dial’s design. New to this model, however, are the rhodium-plated double indices, designed to emulate the frets of a Stratocaster guitar, adding a subtle yet stylish detail that ties the watch to its musical inspiration.To enhance legibility, the small rectangular blocks on the GMT scale and the central hands are luminescent, ensuring clear visibility in low-light conditions. The practical date window is neatly positioned at 3 o’clock, offering balance to the overall design without cluttering the dial.

Bulgari Aluminium x Fender

The “Bulgari Aluminium x Fender” (Ref#: 104117) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber B192 with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. It is based on the Selitta SW 300 base movement. Power reserve can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound. This release is meant to commemorate the Stratocaster’s 70th anniversary, Bulgari unveils 140 special edition Aluminium GMT x Fender watches, presented in custom watch cases modeled after iconic Stratocaster guitar cases. Additionally, 70 handcrafted Fender Stratocaster electric guitars, made at the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California, will be available starting August 30, 2024, with pricing available upon request.
