Case is made of stainless steel with high-polish finished steel lugs and brush-finished sides. The case back is see-through and the bezel mounted atop the case is high-polish finished stainless steel. Watch is water resistant up to 30 meters (100 feet).

Functions are displayed on a silver dial with rose gold hands and arabic numeral hour markers. Featured on the dial is a small seconds sub-dial as well as a two register chronograph function. 

Currently mounted on the watch is an unworn black leather strap that is accompanied by an IWC stainless steel tang buckle. 

Powered by the IWC caliber 52011 self-winding chronograph movement which has an approximate power reserve of 168 hours when fully wound, 31 jewels and beats at a frequency of 28,800vph.

This IW501701 features a date window at the six o'clock position, a sub-seconds sub-dial at the nine o'clock position and a power reserve indicator at the three o'clock position.
