Tudor Black Bay 58 Watch in Burgundy
Just ahead of Watches & Wonders 2025, Tudor has quietly introduced a refreshed version of its popular Black Bay 58, now featuring a striking burgundy dial to complement the existing bezel. This marks the first time the 39mm diver has been paired with this particular color scheme, which previously appeared only on the original Black Bay with a larger 41mm case. While not the long-rumored black dial/burgundy bezel combination collectors have hoped for, the new release adds a dose of warmth and vintage-inspired charm to one of Tudor’s most beloved tool watches.
The case of the new Tudor Black Bay 58 Burgundy maintains the model’s beloved dimensions of 39mm in diameter, with a thickness of approximately 11.9mm and a lug-to-lug span that makes it versatile across a range of wrist sizes. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case features a mix of polished bevels and satin-brushed surfaces, staying faithful to the utilitarian yet refined spirit of the Black Bay line. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a burgundy aluminum insert surrounds a domed sapphire crystal, contributing a vintage-style touch that remains the visual hallmark of the original 2018 release.
The caseback is in solid stainless steel, screwed down to ensure durability and protect the METAS-certified movement within. As with most of Tudor’s modern dive watches, there is no display window here, the emphasis remains on robustness over exhibitionism.
It comes equipped with a screw-down crown featuring the Tudor rose in relief and set into a well-defined crown guard-free profile. The compact, sharply angled lugs transition cleanly into the bracelet or strap options without excess bulk. Water-resistance is rated at 200 meters (660 feet).
The dial presents a subtle evolution from the original 2018 model. It features a gently domed surface with a sunray satin radial-brushed finish, rendered in a deep, rich burgundy tone that shifts under different lighting conditions. The result is a more contemporary aesthetic that retains vintage charm while enhancing visual refinement. The mix of round plots, baton markers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, and the iconic triangle at 12 is lifted straight from Tudor’s classic dive heritage. The brand name, depth rating, and chronometer certification are neatly printed in silver, balancing detail with restraint.
Completing the design are the signature “Snowflake” hands, Tudor’s hallmark since 1969, rendered here in silver and generously treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility. The silver tone of the hands and markers stands out cleanly against the burgundy backdrop, ensuring excellent readability while adding to the vintage-modern appeal.
