Stainless Steel 38mm White Enamel Dial 75th Anniversary

This Watch Is A New Old Stock Piece. It Is Completely Un-Worn, However, It Has Been Used As A Showcase Item For Display Purposes Only. Longines Box And Papers Are Included.

The Original Longines Hour Angle Watch Was Designed By Charles Lindbergh Himself As A Navigational Aid For Pilots. Three Of Its Distinctive Features Are: Dial Display Simultaneously Shows Time and Longitude Info; The Mobile Inner Dial Exhibiting The Seconds Can Be Rotated And Synchronized With The Radio Time Signal; And The Rotating Bezel Permits Correction For The “Equation Of Time”.

Space-Time Dial Is Read By Basing The 360° Of The Earth To The 24 Hours Of The Dial.

Synchronization With Radio Time Signal Is Done By Pulling The Crown Out To Its Intermediate Position And Rotating The Inner Dial Till The Sweep Seconds Hand Coincides With The 60/15 Mark At The Last Tone Of The Time Signal.

In Order To Establish The “Equation Of Time” The Watch Must Be Synchronized With The Radio Time Signal And Subtract 4 Minutes And 50 Seconds. This Is Done By Moving The Stud On The Bezel To The Left By Four Units (Since Each Unit Equals A Minute). For The Remaining 50 Seconds To Be Precise Use The Small Inner Dial And 50 Is Found Opposite The 12 ½.

Case Is Made Of High-Polish Finished Stainless Steel And Is Equipped With A Swing-Open Case Back That Allows The Solid Case Back To Be Swung Open To Display A Transparent Sapphire Crystal Case Back. Mounted On The Case Is A BiDirectionally Rotatable Stainless Steel Bezel. Watch Is Water Resistant Up To 30 Meters (99 Feet).

Functions Are Displayed On A White Enamel Dial With A Silver Inner Dial.
