Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller with Jubilee Bracelet

Rolex's lineup of releases this year tells a tale of classic models reimagined in new materials. From the Oystersteel GMT-Master II to the yellow gold Deepsea, and now, the Sky-Dweller makes its debut in gold with Jubilee bracelets. While all existing Sky-Dwellers in Everose gold and yellow gold are now available on Jubilee bracelets, the slate Everose and white yellow gold versions stand out as the flagship offerings. These editions will certainly be well received by devoted Rolex enthusiasts who relish the opportunity to explore specific references with distinct combinations of materials and bracelets, these offerings are sure to satisfy their cravings. The 42mm case with a thickness of 13.8mm is available in either 18k yellow or Everose gold, both with a fluted case back that is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. Mounted to the case is a bidirectional fluted bezel with the “Ring Command” system for setting functions, which can be utilized in conjunction with the crown as it rotates. Despite their full gold construction, they present a rather understated interpretation of the dual time zone watch. The dial showcases a beautiful sunray brush finish that extends seamlessly from the rotating 24-hour ring at the center towards the month indicators positioned at the periphery of the display. The introduction of a gold Jubilee bracelet to the Sky-Dweller range is very noteworthy. The thinner links, in comparison to the Oyster bracelet, impart a heightened sense of refined elegance, emphasizing the luxurious essence of the gold Sky-Dwellers. This addition elevates the models status, further distinguishing itself  from the steel versions with an Oyster bracelet. It also comes equipped with a setting-crown fitted with the Twinlock double waterproofness system that screws down securely against the case. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).

Time can be seen with a slate dial (Everose gold) or intense white (yellow gold) dial, both models feature wide rectangular hour index markers, a novelty introduced in 2017 that has since become a standard feature. Prior to this, traditional Sky-Dwellers typically featured either Arabic or Roman numerals, with the inclusion of "sticks" being a departure from convention.
The index markers play a crucial role in distinguishing the “Sky-Dweller” from its predecessors at a glance. In addition to their aesthetic significance, they provide more surface area for the luminescent filling, resulting in enhanced legibility, especially in low-light conditions. Complementing these markers are the longer hands, first introduced on the 2016 “Rolex Explorer,” which facilitate a quick and effortless reading of the time.
Furthermore, the watch features its characteristic off-set dial, housing a second time zone indicated by a fixed inverted red triangle. This feature positions it as another viable option for those seeking a GMT watch, particularly for those who may not favor the "Rolex GMT Master" models. Additionally, the timepiece includes a date aperture complete with a cyclops lens positioned at the 3 o'clock spot.
